Bolwarra Public School caters for Kindergarten to Year 6 and continues to strive for happy children, caring teachers, supportive parents and high achievement, in our endeavour to provide "Success Through Effort" as stated in our mission statement.
Students from Year 3 to Year 6 continue to uphold our school's tradition of achieving excellent results in the NSW University Mathematics, English, Science and Computer Competitions and the Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition. A selection of all award categories high distinction, distinction, credit, achievement and participation were awarded. Our school participates in the PSSA Knockout competitions, excelling in Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Cross Country, Cricket, Rugby Union, AFL, Tennis, Athletics and Swimming. Each year we have several of our students selected in Regional teams to play at State level. Our Performing Arts expertise is highlighted by our annual participation in the Choral and Instrumental Concerts at the Opera House; Starstruck; Hunter Dance Festival; Sing NSW; local musical festivals; biennial whole school musical productions; Operation Art; tuition in piano, flute, guitar, clarinet, violin; Jump Rope displays. Our school's participation in the Enterprise Lifeskills and Maitland Council Environment Program resulted in our school being awarded winner of the 'Grounds Beautification' category. Our Assessing/Reporting procedures are by ongoing individual student Work Samples Folders. These are complemented by 3-way interviews (parent-student-teacher). An After-School Hours Care program operates from our school.
