They don't travel as much these days, but they still feel like they are living that lovely holiday way-of-life. us excited and downsizing! We had three garage sales, sold stuff on Gum Tree, did all sorts of things. "Now we're there and living the kind of life we enjoyed when we were in the van travelling to campgrounds and caravan parks. Everywhere you walk you run into people to talk to - everyone has a friendly wave ar a friendly word. We all help one another - if anyone needs a hand, we all pitch in. Len and Jan were both living in Maitland at the time and were introduced by a mutual friend. That was in 2004. They were together as partners for six years before marrying in 2010. Len and Jan had started to travel before retirement, but after retirement suddenly had more time on their hands to do what they loved, "We travelled around Australia a couple of times and went to lots of other places in the caravan," says Len. "We loved it and it kept us very busy "Even during COVID, we've been able to stick to the rules and feel safe and still see one another. We don't have to think too much about it "We also had our home to maintain though, and the upkeep on that wasn't getting any less. There was a fellow living down the road who was moving into a retirement village and I helped him get rid of some of his stuff at a garage sale. It was him who gave us the idea to move into a retirement village ourselves. It's all organised for us and everyone does the right thing *The villa we have is beautiful. It's gives us plenty of room - we've even got a doutble garage Len and Jan didn't come to Oak Tree alone They brought their two rescue dogs with them. They've put in a doggie door in the laundry which gives the dogs free access to the patio and courtyard. The dogs love it They also don't mind the pats they receive from neighbours too.
