maitland News NOTICE OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION DRAFT LOCAL HOUSING STRATEGY 2041 AND DRAFT RURAL LANDS STRATEGY 2041 On 27 September 2022, Maitland City Council resolved to place the draft Local Housing Strategy 2041 and draft Rural Lands Strategy 2041 on public exhibition. The draft Local Housing Strategy sets out a framework for the provision of housing in the Maitland Local Government Area over the next 20 years. The Strategy looks at what types of housing will be needed for our growing and changing population, where it can be best located and how Council will work with stakeholders to deliver better housing outcomes. The draft Maitland Rural Lands Strategy provides a framework to guide future decisions regarding the use of the Maitland's rural land over the next 20 years while protecting the natural, ecological and scenic quality of our rural area, and enabling future economic development opportunities. The draft Strategies will be on public exhibition from Wednesday 28 September to Friday 28 October 2022. The draft Strategies are available for viewing in hard copies at Council's Administration Centre.
